FAQs

How do you sell the lenses at the great prices you do?
We do not have the overheads that retailers usually have, and this allows us to offer the product to you at much lower prices.
How do I know how many lenses to order?

For monthly or 2 weekly lenses, generally each box will contain 6 lenses (but be sure to check the specifics of your brand and refer to the manufacturers instruction regarding the recommended replacement time for your lenses).

So a box of monthly lenses will last you up to 3 months if the same lens prescription is used in both eyes. If you have different prescriptions in each eye you will need two boxes and together they will last you up to 6 months.

Or a box of 2 Weekly lenses will last you up to 6 weeks if the same lens prescription is used in both eyes.  If you have different prescriptions in each eye you will need two boxes and together they will last you up to 12 weeks.

Other factors to consider are that the more boxes you buy, the cheaper they become and we have Free Delivery when you spend more than $100 in a single transaction.

What if my Optometrist won't give me my prescription details?

You own your prescription details, you have paid to have your eyes tested and the results are your property. They cannot legally or morally withhold the information.

If your current prescription is the same as the lenses you have previously purchased, then all of the details you need are printed on the lens box.  Some Customers get the first month through their Optometrist and then start ordering through Lens Direct.

What types of lenses does LensDirect stock?

We provide Disposable soft contact lenses from the world's leading manufacturers.

Can I still buy lenses from LensDirect even if I have not had my eyes checked in the last 12 months?
The recommended maximum period for you to go without having your eyes checked by an optometrist is 12 months. We will supply your lenses provided you take responsibility for having a current Contact Lens Prescription.
Are the lenses you supply the same ones as I have been getting from my Optometrist?
Yes. We buy from the same Manufacturers as the Optometrists.
What does the courier charge cover?
This covers delivery within New Zealand to your preferred delivery address (e.g. home, work or even a PO Box). We prefer to use this method because we can track your lenses until you receive them, so this is a safer way to deliver your goods to you.
I have a special lens requirement, will LensDirect still supply it?

We will always try to assist you.  We have relationships with all the key lens manufacturers so can usually let you know within 24 hours if we can get the lenses for you.  Use the Contact Us details to let us know your query.

Less common lenses, such as Toric Lenses, can take longer as we order these as required from the lens manufacturers.  This ensures that the lenses you purchase will have the longest possible time for use before their expiry date.  In some cases they may take up to 10 to 15 working days for delivery.  If you would like an accurate estimate of delivery time frame then please email us with the details of the lenses that you require - .
